Ouro Room Collective

EST. 2025

Ouro Room is a collective of anyone in the Boulder/Denver area who enjoys making art, music, or whatever else they want to share with the community. Each event is unique to the artists. In the same night, you might see a hard techno artist, followed by a heart-warming indie band, or a film premiere accompanied by a local art student’s gallery.

My role

I served as the designer and developer for the Ouro Room website, leading the visual identity, interaction design, and front-end implementation. My role focused on translating the collective’s creative direction into a functional, engaging digital space while maintaining consistency across branding and layout decisions.

EST. 2025

Last summer, we attended our first Boiler Room event in Denver. The experience introduced us to a new kind of creative community and sparked the idea of building something of our own. As young entrepreneurs with friends at CU who were aspiring DJs, we wanted to give them a platform to share their talent.

That idea quickly grew. What began with DJs expanded to include indie bands, film premieres, and art galleries. While we’re still finding our voice, our goal remains the same: to create a space for anyone creative to share what they love.

web development

Skills used

This project required a combination of UI/UX design, front-end development, and branding. I used design systems, typography, color theory, and layout principles alongside React and Mantine to build reusable components and maintain visual consistency. I also applied motion and interaction design to create a dynamic, immersive experience without overwhelming the content.

Design decisions and features

The website features were chosen to reflect Ouro Room’s identity as a creative collective. Dark backgrounds, strong typography, and subtle motion were used to emphasize mood and atmosphere. Interactive elements and modular layouts were intentionally designed to scale as the collective grows, allowing new content and projects to be added without disrupting the overall structure.
